The Bristol Education Awards is celebrating the city's top schools and their staff - and we need your help.

Over the past few years, the city has seen a a dramatic improvement in the quality of its educational facilities, thanks in no small part to the collaborative work of teachers, TAs, support staff, governors, parents and pupils.

We want to make sure no success story goes unheard, so if you know of one, we want to here from you.

The awards categories are as follows:

  • Headteacher of the year (primary and secondary)

  • Teacher of the year (primary and secondary)

  • Teaching assistant of the year (primary and secondary)

  • SEN teacher of the year

  • Education and Business Partnership

This award recognises schools that engage effectively with business. We’re looking for schools who work with businesses to increase the resources available to their students and to grow their pupils understanding of the business world.

Lifetime achievement award

To nominate visit the website or complete the nomination form below.

Finalists will be invited to an award ceremony later this year at The Bristol Hotel.

One aspect of school life that we are particularly keen in shining a light on, is the teaching of life skills.

We think gearing students for life outside of full-time education is very important.

Staff at St Brendan's Sixth Form College is dedicating an entire day this with Employability Day.

The day will consist of everything students may need to know about the workplace - from applying for an apprenticeship to attending an interview.

There will be a chance for students to take part in mock interviews with an experienced employer, where they will also receive feedback. Teens can also hone their CV writing skills and even see what a day in the life of a particular job entails.

Organisations working with St Brendan's on the day include Airbus, Rolls Royce and the HMRC.

If your school is doing something similar to improve students' preparation for life after education, we want to hear from you.
