Bristol Rovers Community Trust Win GFA Grassroots Project of the Year

Bristol Rovers Community Trust are delighted to have been presented with another award following winning last year's Bristol Life Charity of the Year 2018.

The Community Trust were last night awarded the Gloucestershire Football Association, Grassroots Project of the Year.

Nominees for the awards highlighted the outstanding grassroots and community work the Trust is involved with, including their adult and youth disability sessions, Wildcats sessions for 5-11 year old girls and their Walking Football groups. The nominees also were highly impressed with the development of Bristol Rovers Women's FC and the Trust's mental health football programme delivered in association with AWP NHS Trust. The 'Recovery Through Sport' project aims to improve peoples mental and physical wellbeing through the power of sport.

Ken Masters, Chair of Trustees for Bristol Rovers Community Trust and recipient of the award said, 'We are delighted to have received tonight's award for Grassroots Project of the Year. The work that we are currently undertaking is incredibly important to both the Trust and Football Club and we are delighted to be recognised amongst so many fantastic clubs who are having such a positive impact across our communities."
