Just a few ways Bristolians are supporting the Ukrainian Crisis

Bristolian helping Ukraine refugees flee to safety at the border. Bristol-born Simon, 49, is a self-employed father of two from Stockwood. He joined forces with friends Brian and Paul to help as many people in Ukraine, particularly women and children, get to a safe zone, offering them food, drink and other supplies when needed. They collected charitable donations from pick up points in Bournemouth and headed for the western city of Lviv to assist families seeking to cross the Polish border.

Eight-year-old girl gives up birthday presents to help Ukrainian crisis. Luna, an eight-year-old girl from Bristol is planning to give up all of her birthday presents for a second year running and instead support a local food bank, which is now helping support the Ukrainian crisis.

North Street Standard team set off to deliver supplies to border. Director Dominic Wood, and his colleague Mikael Carlsson, have set off on a 1,200-mile journey from Bedminster to Poland. As they left on Monday, behind their vehicle trailed a container brimming with aid to help fleeing refugees. Packed into the trailer and pick-up truck were supplies including nappies, thermal blankets, thermos flasks and heat packs.

Bristol florists sell Ukraine's national flower to raise money for affected families. Florists in Bristol are selling sunflowers (Ukraine's national flower) to raise money for people living in the war-torn country. It's just one of the many ways people in the South West, and around the world, have tried to help those affected. The proceeds are being given to charities who are operating in the war zone throughout the current crisis, such as British Red Cross crisis appeal.
